Bolivia appoints three new viceministers to energy ministry

Bolivia’s Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energies, Marcelo Blanco Quintanilla, has sworn in three new viceministers to strengthen the nation’s energy sector. The appointments, made via supreme resolutions signed by President Rodrigo Paz Pereira, aim to bolster strategic areas including hydrocarbons, energy planning, and emerging energy technologies.

The new officials are Tatiana Genucio Pazzi, appointed as Viceminister of Hydrocarbons; José Eduardo Germán Ustariz Márquez, as Viceminister of Energy Planning and Development; and Luis Eduardo Osorio Calderón, as Viceminister of Evaporitic Resources and Emerging Energy Technologies.

The leadership changes occur amid a complex socio-economic landscape in Bolivia, characterized by public transport unions warning of potential protests regarding diesel price increases and fuel shortages at service stations.
