Bolivia coordinates with UNDP on 2026-2030 National Development Plan

The Bolivian government is coordinating technical assistance with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to draft its National Development Plan for 2026-2030. During a meeting in the United States with UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean Michelle Muschett, Minister of the Presidency Fernando Aramayo discussed strategies to improve public spending efficiency and reduce poverty.

The proposed plan aims to establish sectoral goals using a Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and will utilize household survey data to measure the impact of social policies. Key objectives include strengthening the capacities of vulnerable populations, increasing productivity in low-income sectors, supporting micro and small enterprises, and expanding digital transformation access. Additionally, the government intends to use a Single Social Registry (RSU) to better direct public investment and social offerings toward priority sectors while ensuring the energy transition does not create new social gaps.
