Bolivia fuel blockades prompt LPG shortages and long queues

In the Bolivian city of Potosí, residents have been queuing since early morning to purchase LPG cylinders amid fears of supply disruptions caused by ongoing road blockades. Neighbours reported delays in distribution and expressed concern that some neighborhoods are not receiving the product regularly, forcing families to wait hours for a single cylinder.

President Rodrigo Paz announced that, despite the blockades, more than one million litres of gasoline and 40,000 LPG cylinders have been delivered to La Paz and El Alto in recent days, easing pressure on households. He noted that the blockades, now in their 38th day, have also affected other regions such as Oruro, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, leading to shortages of food, medicine and other essential goods and causing significant economic losses for businesses and producers.
