Mexico, Bolivia, and Chile advance regional tourism and political agendas
In Mexico, tourism officials from across the country are coordinating for the National Encounter of Pueblos Mágicos, scheduled to take place in Tampico from November 26 to 29, 2026. The event aims to showcase the country's cultural authenticity and traditions while driving regional economic growth and employment through tourism.
In Bolivia, nine governors are meeting in Pando with President Rodrigo Paz to discuss the '50/50 agenda.' This initiative focuses on the redistribution of resources and increasing the financial autonomy of departmental governments, with goals set for the 2027 budget cycle.
Additionally, the Chilean National Tourism Service (Sernatur) has launched a call for tourism businesses in the Tarapacá region to participate in 'Tarapacá Day 2026.' The event will be held in La Paz, Bolivia, on November 6 and 7, aiming to strengthen commercial ties and promote regional attractions to the Bolivian market.
