Bolivia issues arrest warrant for Tatiana Marset
Bolivian authorities have declared Tatiana Marset, sister of Uruguayan drug trafficker Sebastián Marset, in rebellion and issued an arrest warrant after she failed to appear at an appeal hearing. Her legal defense, led by Mónica Terrazas, claims Marset is currently hospitalized and intends to file a judicial appeal to prevent her return to the Palmasola prison in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The case has drawn renewed scrutiny toward the Bolivian Prosecutor's Office following previous developments involving Jimena Katherin Marset Cabrera. Jimena was detained in June 2025 near Madrid, Spain, via an Interpol operation, but was released shortly after after Bolivian authorities issued a fiscal dismissal that nullified her international arrest warrant.
These legal complications coincide with the investigation of former Attorney General Róger Mariaca, who is being investigated for alleged links to criminal organizations and the protection of drug trafficking operations.
