Bolivia launches 5,000 Google scholarships to boost digital skills

The Bolivian government has launched the Google Career Launchpad program, providing 5,000 scholarships to Bolivian youth aged 18 and older. The initiative aims to reduce the digital divide and enhance technological competencies across the country.

Beneficiaries, including university students, institute students, and entrepreneurs, will receive six months of free access to training in high-demand fields such as generative artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analysis, and cloud engineering. Additionally, participants will receive a 50% discount on official Google Cloud certification exams.

The program also includes 100 full scholarships for teachers, tutors, and digital facilitators to receive specialized training and official certifications. President Rodrigo Paz emphasized the necessity of digital literacy to prepare the nation for a technological labor market and to create opportunities in sectors like agriculture, mining, tourism, health, and education.
