Santa Cruz exports per capita surpass US, Japan, and New Zealand

Between January and July 2026, the Argentine province of Santa Cruz reached export levels of USD 7,225 per inhabitant. According to an analysis by Politikon Chaco using official Indec data, this seven-month figure surpasses the total annual per capita export records set in 2025 by the United States (USD 6,441), Japan (USD 5,900), and New Zealand (USD 6,650).

Total exports for the province reached USD 2,420 million during this period, marking a 77.1% year-on-year increase. This growth represents the third-largest increase among all Argentine jurisdictions. Industrial manufactures (MOI) were the primary driver, accounting for USD 1,799 million, or approximately 74.3% of the total export value, with significant contributions from metals and stones.
