Bolivia President Rodrigo Paz marks one year in office

President Rodrigo Paz addressed the nation at Palacio Quemado to mark his first year in power, highlighting his administration's efforts against drug trafficking and narcoterrorism. Paz claimed significant successes in law enforcement, citing the capture of high-profile figures and the dismantling of criminal networks, such as a PCC faction leader in Concepción. He contrasted his administration's results with the previous 20 years of MAS government.

Regarding the national economy, Paz stated he inherited a devastated financial situation but asserted that his government is currently implementing measures to transform it.

Contrasting reports have emerged regarding the administration's integrity. While Paz emphasizes economic and security reforms, critics point to allegations of corruption. These include reports of a private jet arriving from the United States with 32 suitcases allegedly containing over 100 million dollars, an incident that occurred shortly after his inauguration. Investigations into the cargo and its connection to various individuals remain subjects of public debate.
