Bolivia strengthens fuel controls amid gasoline-plus distribution complaints

In Oruro, transport organisations reported that some stations were selling a lower‑grade “gasoline‑plus” fuel instead of the approved special gasoline, alleging mechanical damage to vehicles and higher operating costs. The Federation of Drivers demanded that Governor Edgar Sánchez enforce the agreement to supply only the special grade, and officials inspected pumps to document the mixed distribution.

Separately, Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) and the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) launched intensified inspections in Potosí. The joint operation used inventory‑verification systems to identify about 25 vehicles repeatedly loading fuel, temporarily blocking them and recording the incidents to improve transparency and ensure equitable fuel delivery to the public.
