Bolivia Supreme Court President Romer Saucedo Announces Resignation

Romer Saucedo Gómez, the president of Bolivia's Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), announced that he will resign from his post once the Full Chamber approves the schedule for upcoming judicial elections. He said he will present his resignation this year and make the position available to the institution.

Saucedo, who assumed the TSJ presidency in 2025, cited Law 025, which sets a three‑year term for the role, as the legal framework for his tenure. He explained that he is stepping down for the good of the institution, acknowledging difficulties faced during his management and a lack of expected support from other bodies. He affirmed he will remain linked to the judicial sphere and dismissed any political aspirations, stating, "I am not interested in politics."

The announcement was made during an event in San Ignacio de Velasco, where Saucedo emphasized that the court will select a new president after the election calendar is approved.
