Bolivia to open diplomatic mission in Rabat and commercial office in Dakhla

Bolivia has expressed its readiness to establish a diplomatic representation in Rabat and open a commercial office in Dakhla. The commercial office is intended to serve as a gateway for Bolivian products to access African markets.

The announcement followed meetings between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Bolivian counterpart, Héctor Francisco Huanca Gutiérrez, held on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York. In a joint communiqué, Bolivia noted Morocco’s 2007 autonomy proposal, stating it could serve as a path toward a “just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution.”

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. To strengthen bilateral ties, the ministers agreed to intensify high-level political dialogue and signed an agreement to waive visas for holders of diplomatic, official, service, and special passports. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the diplomatic academies of both countries.
