Bolivia military aircraft crash kills six

A Bolivian Air Force Cessna (FAB‑409) crashed in the Cerro Sayari area of Cochabamba while conducting a "support of civic action" flight from El Alto International Airport to Cochabamba. All six occupants – four military personnel and two civilians – were killed.

The Defence Ministry confirmed that the aircraft lost radio contact during the flight, prompting activation of the INCERFA emergency alert and a search‑and‑rescue operation. The wreckage was located hours later, and the Junta Investigadora de Accidentes Aeronáuticos (JIAA) was tasked with determining the cause. Officials noted the plane had recently performed a humanitarian mission transporting children with cancer from Oruro amid road blockades.

Minister of Defence Ernesto Justiniano Urenda expressed condolences to the families and promised state support. An official investigation is ongoing.
