Bolivian ex-president Tuto Quiroga says Evo Morales would flee if he won runoff

Former Bolivian president Jorge "Tuto" Quiroga told ERBOL that, had he won the August 2025 second‑round election, former president Evo Morales would have left the country. Quiroga said Morales fears him and continues to wield influence over certain voter groups.

Morales is subject to an arrest warrant for alleged child‑trafficking in Tarija and is currently under the protection of his supporters in the Tropico area of Cochabamba. Defence Minister Ernesto Justiniano said authorities are seeking his detention, though details of any operation are being kept confidential.
