Bolivian government lifts fuel blockades and begins GNV cylinder rollout for transport

Minister of Hydrocarbons Marcelo Blanco said residents of the Senkata neighborhood expelled blockades at the oil plant, allowing 70 fuel tankers to deliver about 1.7 million litres of gasoline to La Paz without police escort. The ministry also launched a digital platform for users to monitor station stocks and announced limits on gasoline sold in jerrycans, while permitting border governors to import non‑subsidised gasoline from Brazil and Peru. In a related move, the government delivered 1,500 Gas Natural Vehicular (GNV) cylinders to public‑transport operators, a first tranche of a planned 12,000 cylinders to be distributed nationwide by the end of June, aiming to shift the transport sector toward a cleaner, cheaper fuel.
