Bolivian highway authorities intensify maintenance on Oruro-Challapata detour

The Administradora Boliviana de Carreteras (ABC) has intensified maintenance work on the 20-kilometer Cruce Vinto–Cruce Huanuni detour to improve transitability on the Oruro-Challapata highway. The maintenance includes leveling and profiling the road platform with heavy machinery, repairing potholes and undulations, and wetting the road to reduce dust.

These efforts are being carried out while negotiations continue to finalize the modification contract for the Oruro-Challapata dual carriageway. The project has faced delays relative to the original schedule, causing dissatisfaction among local residents and commuters due to road conditions and dust. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, reduce speed, and follow all signage.
