Bolivian highways and bus services resume after snowfall

Road travel and bus services in Bolivia have returned to normal following temporary suspensions caused by snowfall and ice on major highways.

In Northern Potosí, the Llallagua Bus Terminal has resumed departures to destinations including Oruro, Cochabamba, La Paz, Sucre, and local municipalities such as Pocoata and Colquechaca. Terminal Administrator Ricardo Aldunate noted that while services have normalized, some previously suspended trips were rescheduled for the evening, and snow remains present in certain road sectors.

The Administradora Boliviana de Carreteras (ABC) reported that the Oruro–Cochabamba highway is now passable after crews cleared ice and snow from critical sections, specifically in Colpaña, Killu Vinto, and Japo Kasa.

While bus terminals in El Alto and La Paz confirmed that national and international departures are operating regularly, authorities have advised drivers to reduce speed and exercise caution in high-altitude areas where moisture or ice remnants may still affect road surfaces.
