Bolivian Minister Zamora declares opposition leaders finished, President Paz begins new political cycle

Public Works Minister Mauricio Zamora told reporters in Tarija that longtime opposition figures Samuel Doria Medina, Jorge Tuto Quiroga and former president Evo Morales “already completed their cycle” and that the public is “tired of the old politics.”

Zamora said President Rodrigo Paz is leading “a new political cycle,” citing his administration’s actions such as restoring subsidies that previous leaders would not have done. He added that the government is meeting with regional legislators, mayors and governors to foster joint leadership and advance reforms.

The minister framed the remarks as a call for renewal of Bolivia’s political leadership, positioning the current administration as a break from past partisan dynamics.
