Bolivian Police launch 2026 Technical Vehicle Inspection

The Bolivian Police have launched the 2026 Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV) program, which began on September 18 and will run until December 20. The initiative aims to enhance road safety, reduce traffic accidents, and protect the environment by ensuring vehicles meet technical and emission standards.

Currently, 13 inspection points are operational, with plans to expand to 126 locations nationwide. The program features several technological updates, including a digital pre-registration platform to streamline the process and reduce wait times, as well as the implementation of surveillance cameras at inspection sites to ensure transparency.

The official launch took place in Oruro at the police vehicle warehouse. Authorities noted that the inspection is a preventive measure to address high accident rates in the country and to ensure that modern vehicles are properly maintained.
