Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz Announces Bs 3 bn Investment for Tarija Projects

President Rodrigo Paz marked Tarija’s 452nd anniversary by unveiling a roughly Bs 3 billion investment plan for the department over the next two years. The funding will support road construction, production expansion and other projects coordinated with the Tarija governor and municipal authorities. A key component is the expansion of viticultural land from 3,500 to more than 13,000 hectares to boost singani and wine output, as well as a new water‑treatment plant financed with US$65 million from the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF).

During the same visit, Paz toured the National Paleontological Archaeological Museum (Munaparq) in Tarija, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Mauricio Zamora, and museum officials. The museum, which receives about 30,000 visitors annually, showcases fossils, archaeological artifacts, minerals and rocks from the Quaternary megafauna.
