Bolivian women in Antofagasta celebrate cultural identity
The Bolivian community in Antofagasta, Chile, gathered to celebrate Bolivian Women's Day, an occasion held in honor of Adela Zamudio. Despite living over 1,000 kilometers from their homeland, participants used traditional dances, gastronomy, and customs to reaffirm their cultural roots and values.
The celebration included traditional dances from eastern Bolivia, such as taquirari and chovena, alongside carnival troupes. Community representatives emphasized the importance of maintaining their identity and heritage while working abroad, noting that these traditions foster solidarity among migrants.
