Bolivia's Armed Forces Mark 201st Anniversary with Military Parade

The Bolivian Armed Forces celebrated their 201st anniversary with a series of military parades in Oruro and El Alto. The events featured the traditional oath to the flag, displays of discipline and operational skill, and performances by folkloric groups such as Sambos Caporales, Tinkus Tolk’as, Tobas Central and Diablada Urus. Colonel Wilson Edgar Revuelta Rosales, commander of the Second Division, highlighted the historic link between the armed forces and the Bolivian people.

President Rodrigo Paz used the ceremony to stress that the armed forces belong to Bolivia, its democracy and its constitution, rejecting any affiliation with political parties or individual leaders. The parades were open to the public, secured by police and traffic control measures, and underscored the military’s commitment to defending national sovereignty and supporting the population in emergencies and border protection.
