Bolivia's YPFB faces diesel distribution delays as transport sector reports long queues

Heavy‑transport operators in Bolivia say diesel pumps continue to see long lines despite government claims of normalisation. Transport executive Gabriel Pérez reported that drivers are waiting several hours at stations across the country and that some cisterns have been idle for weeks awaiting clearance to unload at the YPFB Logística plant in Senkata, with estimates of around 200 trucks delayed.

YPFB president Sebastián Daroca asserted that national diesel inventories are sufficient, citing storage volumes that exceed daily demand. He attributed the persistent queues to distribution inefficiencies and resale activities rather than a shortage of product. The transport sector argues that the prolonged waits raise operating costs, disrupt logistics and threaten the reliability of freight services.

The dispute highlights ongoing challenges in Bolivia’s fuel supply chain, with transport companies calling for faster authorisations and improved distribution coordination to alleviate the bottlenecks affecting the country’s road freight network.
