Bolivia's Tarija Hospital San Juan de Dios to be inspected by national government

The Bolivian national government and the Tarija governorate will inspect the San Juan de Dios Hospital on Friday. The delegation includes Public Works Minister Mauricio Aramayo Liebers, Governor María René Soruco Campero, Vice‑Governor Gonzalo Ávila Sánchez and the director of the Health Infrastructure Agency (Aisem). The visit follows a directive from President Rodrigo Paz Pereira to coordinate health‑sector reconstruction with local authorities. Officials said the inspection will assess the hospital’s critical infrastructure problems and discuss broader reconstruction projects such as roads, irrigation, dams and education facilities.

The meeting highlighted the need for concerted leadership and resource allocation to address the numerous challenges facing the department, with the government pledging to work across sectors to meet the population’s needs.
