Bollywoof trailer released for animated adventure set in India

The official UK trailer for the animated adventure comedy ‘Bollywoof’ has been released by Sky TV and Vue. The film follows Basil, an English Springer Spaniel from Yorkshire, who becomes separated from his family during their relocation to Mumbai. After boarding the wrong flight, Basil ends up in Kolkata, over 1,000 miles away from his intended destination.

To find his way back to his family, Basil teams up with Santosh, a Bollywood-obsessed street dog, and Uma, a holy cow. The film, directed by Frederik Du Chau, features a voice cast including David Jonsson, Kunal Nayyar, Olivia Colman, Ambika Mod, Sanjeev Bhaskar, and Rhys Ifans.

‘Bollywoof’ is described as a musical-tinged adventure involving travel by plane, rickshaw, and paw, alongside Bollywood dance routines. The film is scheduled to open in UK cinemas on January 22, 2027. A release date for the United States has not yet been announced.
