Bologna adds Argentine midfielder Amondarain, scouts central defender

Bologna FC have completed the signing of 18‑year‑old Argentine midfielder Facundo Amondarain from Estudiantes for a reported €10 million. The new recruit described himself as a "box‑to‑box" player able to add intensity, pressure and ball‑control, and expressed enthusiasm about joining the club.

The club is also active in the defensive market. Current centre‑back Jhon Lucumi is reportedly linked with a move away, prompting Bologna to target replacements. Options being discussed include German midfielder‑defender Marc‑Oliver Kempf and Brazilian defender Diego Carlos, who is owned by Fenerbahçe and commands a high salary. The club aims to reinforce its back line while integrating Amondarain into the midfield.
