Bologna Airport: 19-year-old caught providing unlicensed chauffeur services

A 19-year-old man was caught performing unlicensed chauffeur services (NCC) at Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport. Local police officers, working undercover near the national arrivals gate, observed passengers heading toward a vehicle in the parking area. Suspicious behavior and formal interactions between the passengers and the driver led officers to intercept the vehicle before departure.

During questioning, the young man initially claimed he was picking up relatives. However, he later confessed to performing a pre-arranged trip to Ravenna for 90 euros in cash after being pressed for details. As a result, the individual faced sanctions for illegal transport, including the immediate seizure of his driver’s license and vehicle registration, along with the administrative impoundment of the car. Local police are continuing investigations to identify the network of intermediaries responsible for managing calls and recruiting unauthorized drivers at the airport.
