Bologna celebrates 365 years of Mortadella Bologna IGP

Bologna will host Mortadella Day on October 24 to commemorate the 365th anniversary of the Mortadella Bologna IGP. The date marks the anniversary of the 1661 decree issued by Cardinal Farnese, which established the first production regulations for the product in Bologna.

This year's celebration also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Consorzio Italiano Tutela Mortadella Bologna. The event program includes a historical exhibition detailing the product's evolution, a historical reenactment in period costumes, and a showcooking session featuring chef Max Poggi and historian Daniele Reponi.

Activities will take place at Palazzo Re Enzo, featuring an aperitif that highlights the pairing of Mortadella Bologna IGP with Piadina Romagnola IGP and Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP.
