Bologna Court upholds ban on teacher following erotic video incident

The Bologna Court of Appeal has upheld a ruling against a teacher in Modena, prohibiting her from performing teaching duties. The court determined she may only hold administrative roles without contact with students.

The incident occurred in 2023 when the teacher, a permanent administrative assistant, was assigned a teaching role. During a lesson with students aged 15 to 16, she reportedly shared an erotic video and photograph received on her phone with the class. While the teacher claimed she acted “without malice” to discuss her romantic relationship, disciplinary proceedings found her conduct harmful to the dignity of the students and contrary to the duties of an educator.

In addition to the restriction on teaching duties, the teacher was ordered to pay approximately 3,500 euros in legal expenses.
