Bologna defender Emil Holm undergoes surgery for long-term injury

Bologna FC defender Emil Holm has undergone surgery following a serious injury sustained during a match between Sweden and Romania. The Swedish player required surgery in Finland, performed by Professor Lasse Lempainen, to repair a torn hamstring tendon in his right thigh. Bologna's club doctor, Luca Bini, was present for the procedure.

The club announced that Holm will undergo a rehabilitation process following a few days of rest, with an estimated recovery period of four to six months. This long-term absence presents a significant challenge for manager Raffaele Palladino.

In response to the injury, Bologna is considering signing free agent Matteo Darmian to bolster the squad. Darmian, an experienced defender with over 300 Serie A appearances and a former Manchester United player, has reportedly already begun training with the team. The club management is expected to make a final decision regarding his signing in the coming days.
