Bologna FC is actively seeking a central defender to replace Jhon Lucumí following the player's departure. The club is prioritizing a fast profile capable of immediate integration to stabilize a defense that struggled during the preseason.

Nathan Gassama, a French-Malian defender from Baltika, has emerged as a leading candidate. The Russian club reportedly values him at approximately 5 million euros. Gassama is noted for being in active match fitness, having already appeared in several starts this season.

Other potential options include Francesco Acerbi, currently a free agent, who is being evaluated for his leadership and experience. The club is also monitoring Juan Cabal from Juventus, potentially through a loan deal, and has held contacts regarding Dominik Prpic from Porto.

Previous targets such as Fedde Leysen and David Odogu did not materialize, with the latter moving to Sassuolo.
