Bologna manager defends decision to bench goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski

Bologna FC manager Raffaele Palladino has addressed the decision to bench goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski in favor of 18-year-old Massimo Pessina. Following a period of disciplinary issues and inconsistent performance by the 35-year-old, Palladino opted to start Pessina during the Serie A match against Lecce.

Despite a mistake by the young goalkeeper during the match, Palladino defended the choice as a purely sporting decision aimed at fostering the development of the teenager. The manager noted that Pessina returned from national team duties with high energy and expressed confidence in the player's potential.
