Bologna Municipality to meet residents after court ruling on Via Zoccoli

The Bologna Municipality has announced its intention to meet with residents of Via Zoccoli to seek a shared solution following a TAR (Regional Administrative Court) ruling. The court determined that the small road and its associated retaining wall, which was damaged during the October 2024 floods, are public property.

The ruling favors the residents of the condominium at numbers 15-17, overturning previous municipal ordinances that had ordered the residents to fund the restoration of the area. Under the court's decision, the responsibility for both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, as well as the restoration of the site, falls to the municipality.

City Councilor Daniele Ara stated that the administration's goal is to find a legal path that respects both municipal competencies and the needs of the residents, noting that the technical situation is complex and involves differing positions within the affected buildings.
