Bologna officials assess damage following recent demonstrations

Following recent demonstrations in Bologna, local authorities and utility provider Hera have begun cleaning operations to restore the city. Emergency crews, including municipal workers and construction companies, worked through the night to remove debris and ensure city center streets were passable by early morning.

Preliminary damage assessments are currently being verified. Initial estimates suggest costs related to tram construction sites, including protective works installed between Friday and Saturday, range between 30,000 and 50,000 euros. Additional damages are estimated at approximately 25,000 euros, though this figure is subject to further verification.

City official Simone Borsari expressed support for local merchants and citizens affected by the economic and physical disruptions, noting that while the city has returned to normalcy, work continues to restore public spaces and minimize further inconvenience.
