Bologna police report two weapon seizures in Piazza dei Martiri

Carabinieri officers conducted two separate interventions involving illegal weapons in Bologna's Piazza dei Martiri between the evening of August 22 and the early hours of August 23.

In the first incident, occurring around 10:00 PM, police intercepted a 60-year-old Cuban man acting suspiciously near via Avesella. Upon searching him, officers discovered a sharp “RAMBO” model survival knife with a built-in compass hidden behind his back in his trousers. He was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for possession of weapons or objects capable of causing offense.

The second incident took place shortly after midnight following reports of verbal aggression and threats involving a group of young people. An Audi RS3 returned to the square, allowing officers to identify the driver, a 28-year-old Italian man with a prior criminal record. He was found in possession of a machete and has also been reported to the authorities for weapon possession.
