Bolos da Carrasca Cultural Week Launches in Nigrán

The Centro Cultural e Deportivo Bolos da Carrasca, with support from the Nigrán municipal council, opened its 31st Cultural Week on Monday, 3 August. The week‑long programme features concerts by the Lira de San Miguel de Oia band, performances by the Pandereteiras do Sobreiro, the Ardelume association of Baiona, and a children’s day with inflatable games, foam parties and dance‑school shows.

The event culminates on Friday, 9 August, with the XIII Festa dos Ovos con Chourizo – a local egg‑and‑chorizo festival. About thirty volunteers will serve 1,500 rations in the Praza da Carrasca, accompanied by music from the Duo Dinamita. Mayor Juan González praised the festival as the only enduring gastronomic celebration in Nigrán, crediting the cultural association for energising the parish’s social life.
