Bolsa Família payments begin in April as INSS ends in-person medical certificate reviews

In Brazil, beneficiaries of Bolsa Família will start receiving the April installment, with payments beginning on Friday for those whose NIS ends in 6. The program’s average monthly payout is R$678.22, reflecting its role as a major source of financial support for millions of people. Separately, the Ministry of Social Security and the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) updated the rules for issuing medical certificates, removing the requirement for in-person examinations for certificates valid up to 90 days, in a move toward more streamlined processing.
