Bolsa Internacional de Cereales del Duero marks 10 years of market leadership

The Bolsa Internacional de Cereales del Duero (BICD) is celebrating ten years as a strategic forum for the cereal and oilseed sector. Organized by the Asociación de Comercio de Cereales y Oleaginosas de España (ACCOE), the event brings together brokers, operators, and executives to analyze market trends and facilitate commercial agreements.

José Manuel Álvarez, Secretary General of ACCOE, noted the significant international growth of the BICD since 2016. He emphasized that the cereal sector is a vital economic driver and a strategic asset for global food security and geopolitical stability. The current market is heavily influenced by geopolitical volatility, including the situation in Ukraine and shifting global supply chains.

In the Castilla y León region, agricultural leaders are calling for additional financial support to combat price crises. Joaquín Antonio Pino, the regional Minister of Agriculture, has requested an extraordinary credit from the regional government to reinforce aid for cereal producers and beekeepers, seeking additional funds beyond current autonomous budgets.
