Bolsonaro family faces internal friction and past military involvement claims

Former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro has renewed public criticism of his stepmother, Michelle Bolsonaro, on social media. Agreeing with comments made by influencer Allan dos Santos, Eduardo suggested that Michelle’s past actions were intended to interfere with the political campaign of Flávio Bolsonaro.

This friction follows a previous public dispute in June 2026, during which Michelle claimed she was mistreated by her stepson during a phone call regarding political alliances in Ceará. Although Flávio and Michelle later reconciled and appeared together at campaign events, Eduardo’s recent comments highlight ongoing internal tensions within the family and the Liberal Party (PL).

In a separate development regarding the Bolsonaro administration's history, reports indicate that Diego Torres Dourado, Michelle Bolsonaro’s brother, was involved in political maneuvering during the 2021 crisis of the Brazilian Armed Forces. According to Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior, Dourado contacted him to ask if he would accept the command of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) should President Jair Bolsonaro extend an invitation. This interaction occurred during the period when the entire leadership of the Army, Navy, and Air Force was simultaneously replaced.
