Bolsonaro family faces shifting influence in Brazilian politics

Anthropologist Isabela Kalil notes that the refusal of the 'Centrão' to support Flávio Bolsonaro's potential candidacy signals a significant departure from previous years when conservative forces tolerated or adhered to the Bolsonaro project. This comes as the family's influence is weakened by Jair Bolsonaro's legal issues and ineligibility.

Journalist Lincoln Secco suggests that while Flávio Bolsonaro inherits some electoral strength through his surname, he lacks the specific political charisma of his father. Additionally, Secco points to difficulties facing the Workers' Party (PT), noting that decades of government experience may have limited the party's ability to present fresh perspectives for the future.
