Bolt celebrates 10 years of operations in Hungary
Bolt is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Hungary, marking a decade since the service launched in 2016 under its former name, Taxify. Since its expansion beyond Budapest, the platform is now available in 11 regional cities.
A significant trend noted during this period is the growth of electric vehicles within the fleet. While only two electric cars were present in 2017, they accounted for 12.7 percent of the fleet in 2025, with projections suggesting they will reach nearly 20 percent by 2026. Common models include the Tesla Model 3, Kia e-Niro, Volkswagen ID. 4, Nissan Leaf, and Škoda Enyaq.
The company also highlighted several milestones, including a record-breaking 763-kilometer trip from Budapest to Podgorica, Montenegro, which cost 395,100 HUF. Collectively, the distance traveled by partner drivers over the last decade is vast enough to theoretically circle the Earth at the equator approximately 8,000 times.
