Bolt drivers accused of manipulating prices at Bratislava Airport
Passengers at M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava have reported a practice where Bolt taxi drivers allegedly cancel or reject rides to artificially inflate demand and trigger higher surge pricing. Travelers have expressed frustration after being unable to secure affordable transport, finding that the app only offers more expensive options after repeated cancellations.
Social media personalities and even some honest Bolt drivers have criticized the behavior, noting that certain drivers exploit the ability to wait near the terminal without time limits to manipulate the market. While the airport stated it has not yet received official complaints, Bolt has acknowledged that such conduct violates its rules. The company announced it will tighten conditions, stating that drivers who repeatedly refuse orders at the airport may lose access to airport pickups or be removed from the platform entirely.
