Bolt expands parcel delivery service in Mombasa with motorbikes

Bolt has expanded its Bolt Send parcel delivery service in Mombasa, Kenya, by adding motorbikes to its existing fleet of cars. The expansion aims to provide faster and more flexible delivery options for small packages, allowing riders to navigate heavy traffic and access locations that may be difficult for larger vehicles.

The service is intended for a variety of users, including online sellers, restaurants, pharmacies, offices, and individuals. By utilizing the Bolt app, customers can receive upfront price estimates and track their parcels in real time. This model allows small and medium-sized businesses to fulfill deliveries without the need to maintain their own dedicated fleets.

In Mombasa, where approximately 20,000 boda boda riders operate, the addition of motorbikes to the Bolt Send platform provides eligible driver-partners with additional earning opportunities alongside other available services. Bolt currently has more than 1,000 active riders earning a living through the platform in the region each week.
