Bolt partners with NVIDIA and Lucid for European robotaxis
Bolt has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA and Lucid to deploy autonomous robotaxis across Europe. The initiative will utilize NVIDIA’s Alpamayo Stack software and Hyperion computing and sensor hardware. The vehicles will be manufactured by the American electric automaker Lucid, with plans to deploy at least 25,000 Level 4 autonomous vehicles.
The rollout is scheduled to begin in Madrid in the spring of 2027, pending regulatory approval. Initial operations in Madrid will focus on collecting driving data to refine software for European roads rather than providing immediate passenger services. Following the Madrid launch, Bolt intends to expand operations into Germany and France. A pilot project is also planned for Luxembourg.
This partnership represents a significant volume for Lucid, which reported a decline in production and sales in recent quarters. Bolt has set a long-term goal to have 100,000 autonomous vehicles on its platform across Europe and surrounding regions by 2035.
