Bolt reports 300 percent surge in ride demand in Zagreb
Bolt has reported a 300 percent increase in ride demand in Zagreb compared to the previous Monday. This surge is attributed to an announced strike that resulted in the near-total unavailability of public transportation in the city.
To manage the high volume, Bolt advised users to book rides in advance and encouraged its network of several thousand partner drivers to remain active on the platform. The company noted that many drivers were active as early as 6:00 AM to meet the demand during peak morning hours.
Data analysis from the platform indicates that a significant portion of the increased morning traffic in Zagreb is directed toward various medical institutions, including KBC Zagreb, KB Dubrava, Merkur, Vinogradska, Sveti Duh, Petrova, and Klaićeva hospitals. The surge includes both patients and healthcare workers traveling to their workplaces.
