Boltigen car accident leaves six injured

Six people were injured, including one seriously, following a two-vehicle collision in Boltigen, Simmental valley, on a Friday evening. The accident occurred on Bäuertweidli road when a female driver crossed into the oncoming lane during a right turn, colliding with another vehicle.

The impact caused the oncoming car to overturn and slide down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof. Five passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver responsible for the collision was trapped in her vehicle and required rescue by firefighters. She was subsequently airlifted to a hospital by a Rega helicopter after receiving initial treatment.

Bern Cantonal Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. The road was closed for approximately four hours to allow for cleanup operations.
