Bolu Municipality nears completion of 100. Yıl Cumhuriyet Parkı
The Bolu Municipality is nearing the completion of the first phase of the 100. Yıl Cumhuriyet Parkı, a massive 100,000-square-meter living space located along the Büyüksu Stream. The project is expected to open to the public by the end of the year.
Of the total area, 40,000 square meters are dedicated to landscaping and 11,000 square meters will feature an artificial pond. The park will include various amenities such as children's playgrounds, restaurants with lake views, picnic areas, scent gardens, and dedicated walking and cycling paths. Access to the park will be provided through three different connection points.
A special feature of the project is the ‘Cumhuriyet Çınar Ormanı’ (Republic Plane Tree Forest), where a new plane tree will be planted to commemorate each year of the Republic. Bolu Deputy Mayor M. Tuna Özcan recently inspected the construction site, noting that the project will become the largest park in the region once fully completed.
