Bolu's 'Women‑Led Chickpea' Project Boosts Female Farmers
The Bolu provincial authorities have launched the "Kadın Eliyle Nohutta Bereket" (Women‑Led Chickpea) project to increase agricultural diversity and strengthen the role of women farmers. Under the programme, chickpea fields near the city have been expanded and are being closely monitored by teams from the Bolu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Crop Research Institute. Technical visits assess plant growth, disease and pest conditions, and provide guidance to improve yields. Officials say the initiative aims to raise production volumes and encourage higher‑yield harvests by supporting female growers throughout the season.
