Bolívar butcher shop closed after dog poisoning investigation
The local court in Bolívar has ordered the closure of the Carnes La Calfucurá butcher shop following an investigation into the poisoning of dogs in the Los Tilos neighborhood. Authorities determined that ground meat from the establishment was used to kill at least four animals.
The owner of the shop, Sebastián Rodrigo Mendiburu, is the primary accused in the case. Although Mendiburu has refused to testify, the judicial process continues. Investigations are currently focused on identifying the individual who supplied the poison to the accused, leading to recent searches of a residence and a warehouse.
Over the past three months, the area has seen a total of approximately twenty dead dogs due to poisoning incidents. A resident named García, who provided critical video footage showing Mendiburu placing a container of meat in the area, is set to receive a $1,500,000 reward promised by the Municipality of Bolívar.
