Bolívar livestock auction sees record sale of Plymouth Rock rooster

A Plymouth Rock Barrada rooster, commonly known as a ‘bataraz’, set a record price at the 97th Exposición Rural de Bolívar in Argentina. The bird sold for 3,020,000 pesos, significantly exceeding the market average for this breed, which typically ranges around 400,000 pesos.

The rooster, which was crowned Grand Champion during the event, was sold following intense bidding. The sale marks a notable return for poultry at the exhibition following previous restrictions imposed by the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA) due to avian influenza.
