Bolzano council majority flips to Futuro Nazionale party
Four Bolzano city councillors, including former Fratelli d'Italia members Giuseppe Martucci and Andrea Lucci, have left their party and joined Roberto Vannacci's Futuro Nazionale list. Their defection, together with the recent switch of councilor Giuliana Dragogna to the mayor's civic list, makes Futuro Nazionale the largest political grouping in the municipal council.
Mayor Claudio Corrarati emphasized a desire for administrative stability, while provincial president Marco Galateo condemned the moves as a breach of the voters' mandate and called for the councillors to resign. Opposition figures, such as Riccardo Rossi of Brindisi Bene Comune, warned that Futuro Nazionale's platform contains extremist positions and could destabilise the centre‑right coalition that supports the mayor.
